  • At present, following the retirement of Mrs Catherine Perring, Mr Colin Whitford is acting as our Business/Operations Manager. He is in the practice on Friday mornings. Day to day managerial issues are covered by the team leaders: Mrs Andrea Tremlett for reception issues, Sr Nicola Pascoe for nursing issues, Mrs Zoe Powell for administrative issues and any of the partners (Drs Murray ,Fearnley or Anderson) for GP or clinical issues.

  • Our Practice Nurses are available by appointment throughout the day. They will change dressings, remove sutures (stitches) perform blood tests, immunisations, travel advice, ear syringing and carry out cervical smears.

    They also run specialist clinics in heart disease, asthma and diabetes. They can also offer advice on healthy living.

    Kirstie   has  extended  her training  so she can assess  patients  independently,  form a management plan, arrange investigations and is able   to  issue  prescriptions.

     

  • Our Health Care Assistants can take blood samples, blood pressures and carry out heart disease checks. They will also advise about healthy living and lifestyles. Appointments to see the Health Care Assistants can be made through the reception team.

  • The health visitors are registered general nurses with special training in infant and child development. Their work is in the promotion of health and prevention of ill health in all age groups. Parents are welcome to contact the Health Visitor about any concerns that they may have about their family.

  • Our midwives hold weekly antenatal clinics in the surgery. They will often arrange a home visit to expectant mothers as well as providing care for mothers and babies in the first ten days following the birth.

    Clinics are held at Parkhill Medical Practice on a Tuesday & Thursday morning

  • The district nurses have a wide range of responsibilities and experience in nursing care in the community. The Palliative care Nurse from Rowcroft Hospice has special training and experience in caring for patients with cancer and terminal illness.
